Associate Professor of the mathematical physics Department, the faculty of Computational Mathematics and Cybernetics (CMC), Lomonosov Moscow state University, Moscow, Russian Federation, candidate of physical and mathematical sciences, ALEXEY SHCHEGLOV.
Alexey Shcheglov was born on January 17, 1960 in Taganrog. In 1982, he graduated from the CMC faculty of Moscow state University and entered the postgraduate course of the faculty at the mathematical physics Department (scientific supervisor
- academician A. N. Tikhonov). In 1988, he defended his PhD thesis. He has been working at the CMC faculty since 1994 as a senior lecturer, associate Professor (since 1997).
He has 28 years of teaching experience (since 1993). In 2020-2021 he is the lector on the courses: “Differential equations”, “Equations of the mathematical physics”, “Mathematical models of physics”, “Inverse problems” for students of the Shenzhen MSU-BIT University. In 2019-2020 he was the lector on the courses: "Differential equations" for students of the Kazakhstan branch of MSU and for students of the joint MSU-BIT University in Shenzhen, "Mathematical analysis" and "Inverse problems" for students of the second higher education Department of the CMC faculty, "Numerical methods for solving inverse problems" for undergraduates of the Kazakhstan branch of MSU. In 1998-2021 he is teaching the seminars on the course "Differential equations", is a co-head of the special seminar "Methods for solving inverse problems" in the mathematical physics Department of MSU, directs coursework (in 2021 – 2 students, 2020 – 3 students), final qualifying works of bachelors (in 2021 – 4 students, 2020 – 2 students) and of masters (in 2021 – 2 students, 2020 – 3 students). In different years he taught courses "Applied functional analysis" (36 h), "Equations of mathematical physics" (36 h), "Special functions" (36 h), "Mathematical problems of tomography" (36 h); led seminars on the courses "Mathematical analysis", "Algebra and analytical geometry", "Probability theory", " Equations of mathematical physics". One PhD thesis was defended under his supervision.
Scientific activity of A. Y. Shcheglov is connected with research of inverse problems in mathematical physics and development of numerical methods for their solution. The results obtained were repeatedly reported to them at all-Russian and international conferences devoted to inverse and ill-posed problems and their applications. He has more than 80 published works, including in the following journals: "Journal of Computational Mathematics and Mathematical Physics", "Bulletin of Moscow University, series 15. Computational Mathematics and
Cybernetics", "Mathematical Notes", "Bulletin of Moscow University, series 4. Geology", "Colloid Journal", "Technical Diagnostics and Non-destructive Testing", "Problems of mechanical engineering and machine reliability", "Mechanics of composite materials", "Computational Mathematics and Modeling", "Journal of Inverse and Ill-Posed Problems", "Numerical Functional Analysis and Optimization", as well as training manuals, including: "Applied questions of mathematical analysis", "Applied questions of functional analysis" for students of the second higher education Department of the CMC faculty.
Shcheglov A.Yu. takes an active part in the work of the mathematical physics Department in MSU. In 1995-2005, he was the Executive Secretary of the annual Moscow University conference on inverse and ill-posed problems. In 2015-2020, he was the Executive Secretary of the admissions Committee of the Kazakhstan branch of MSU.
